Fritts

Notes:

1. All of the above fritts are transparent, except No. 4300 and UK No 2270.

2. “Hard” means higher firing (less fluxing power); “soft” means lower firing (more fluxing power).

3. The fritt numbers in brackets are old numbers for precisely the same fritts. 2268 & P2258 are identical compositions, supplied through Potclays or Potterycrafts respectively. 3134 is an American Ferro Fritt. Whilst some NZ suppliers’ catalogues list Fritt 3134 as being the same as Fritt 4108, that is most definitely incorrect. Fritt 3134 is alumina-free, whereas Fritt 4108 contains alumina. That can be very important for crystalline glazes and some other glazes.
